Dominic grew bright red, all bit of ease he was trying to exude failing him. Just because he was gay it didn't mean he liked him, or was attracted to him. Dom didn't know if he was appealing to others, he assumed he wasn't ugly or anything but he wasn't egotistical. But he knew who was attractive, Torsten. And that charming smile he flashed him made him swoon hard.
"And I'm not sure how to flirt but I'm sorry for checking you out and-" God he was so stupid. He couldn't speak, he was ruining everything and he wanted to drop off the face of the earth. Dominic sighed and dropped his tea, covering up his red face with his hands. "Merlin, I'm so sorry."

Dominic had been checking him out?
Torsten's spirits lifted, practically soaring heaven high. "You were checking me out?" He parroted. Of course, Dom had been saying more things, but that was the only line he caught. Tor leaned forward, closer to Dominic now, and planted both his hands on the corners of the table so that he wouldn't accidentally drop and hit all the food. "You? Checking me out?" Merlin, had he been hearing things? He wasn't sure. Was it possible to get so delirious about such things?
He waited until Dominic finally met his eyes before he narrowed his blue ones. "Dominic..." he began languidly, like a dangerous cat. Dominic could deny it, and Tor would be hurt, but he'd lay off if that was what Dominic wanted. If Dominic confirmed it then...
Tor couldn't even start to think about what he might do to the smaller boy.

Dominic wondered if it was possible to sink into his hands and disappear. He also wondered how dark of a shade red he could get and if it was possible to blush so much it stayed permanent. His heart was going an anxious little dance and he had sunk far down into his chair, not daring to look up at the other. When Torsten asked him to confirm his words, he didn't move a muscle. Right now he could deny it, say he was joking. Fix their friendship and hopefully not get punched in the face. It wasn't too late, if he confirmed his words then it could change everything. Dominic could lose the one thing that was bringing a genuine smile to his face. His little light in the darkness that was consuming him right now.
But what if he didn't say anything? How long could he go pretending he didn't have feelings for Torsten? Every smile between them would pain him. Every laugh, touch... He would never be able to pretend. It was better to be let down than to live a life of questions. So with a shaky exhale he dropped his hands numbly into his lap, lip caught between his teeth.
"Yeah... You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen." He confessed in a tiny whisper, his face falling with every word, like he was accepting his fate. "But its much more than that. You make me happy and you do things for me that no one has ever thought to-" He tore his gaze away, he was becoming far too humiliated.

Torsten wanted to sit back down, maybe laugh hysterically and bury his face in his hands. But he was already leaning over, and sitting back down cost the same amount of effort as continuing forward and silencing Dominic via lip contact, teeth and tongue and all. And wasn't that the more appealing of the two options?
Fuck this, a part of him whispered. Just kiss him already. You should have done it at the Lake, but you were too much of a coward. You should have done it earlier---you had his face in your hands!
Language, Torsten scolded himself faintly, but he was slowly, painstakingly slowly pitching forward. The distance between them decreased. His heart was thudding, and he could hardly hear anything, or see anyone, other than Dominic.
"That's...good to know." He was somehow able to say, but after that, all his words fled him. He had been able to speak since he was two years old, and for that moment everything he learned was taken from his vocal cords. His grip on the tablesides tightened, and he closed his eyes. Alright.
Gently, very gently, he released the table and used one hand to curl a finger beneath Dominic's chin, and raised it so that they had eye contact. He licked his lips. "Dominic," he began huskily, and the words got stuck in his throat. He swallowed and closed his eyes, as if pained. "I'm really sorry, but I'm going to kiss you right now, okay?"

Dominic felt the impact of the words, settling heavy in his stomach. That was it, he was finished. It was nice having Torsten as a friend, and if he was battling for happiness now he didn't know how he would ever crack a smile after this. Dom breathed out a pained exhale, eyes squeezing shut as he waited... And waited for some type of response.
It was so silent, he swore he could hear the Quidditch practice taking place yards away, his skin had paled from its bright red and now he just felt ashamed. He had to go and ruin this didn't he, a perfectly good friendship. He let his romantic notions get in the way... Dom couldn't really be angry at himself. It wasn't like he was use to feeling this way towards another. Then he heard him speak, a bit roughly like Torsten was having difficulty forming words.
His heart sprang to life.
A good thing? Did that mean... What did that mean? Dominic's eyes snapped open in his surprise and in a flash gentle fingers were on his chin, lifting it. Torsten was extremely close, he could feel the other's warm breath on his parting lips. Did he... Just say what he thought he did?
Dominic completely blanked, cheeks rising in color and he swallowed down a thick lump that had built up in his throat. He had never kissed someone before, but it never looked so much more inviting. His gaze narrowed down onto his pale pink lips and Torsten didn't even make a move yet before he began to lean in tentatively.

((For the record, I truly apologize for what I am about to do. But let's take it slow, ne? ;P))
The same moment Dominic leaned in, Tor failed his reputation as the Patience King and swooped down to take his kiss.
Only: the two movements, however small, put them both in completely different angles. Tor's nose struck Dominic's forehead, and there was a great CRACK! He ended up pressing a soft kiss against Dom's nose, and Dom's lips met the underside of his jaw. Usually that would have made him shiver.
But. His nose was broken. Tor reared back with wide eyes and laughed, a result of the pain and the incredulity. "Oh my Merlin." He guffawed.

((Ah it's okay, just builds the angst.))
Dominic stopped breathing. He thought he was pretty much dead because nothing in him seemed to be running anymore. He knew after kissing Tor, that would seal the deal. He'd be completely smitten and protective, possibly even clingy which he would apologize profusely for.
But... Well it went about as well as things usually did for the Gryffindor. "Unf-" He grunted as he head butted him, making his lips glide against his chin and if the sudden shock of pain wasn't spreading to his temples, he'd enjoy it.
Moment, ruined. But, that was life.
Dominic didn't have time to dwell on the disappointment as Torsten backed up clutching his face and he was already on his feet, healer mode on.
Ignoring his own head ache he crossed to him, lip caught between his teeth in contained worry. "Come on let's sit you down, clumsy." He said good naturally, placing a warm hand onto his elbow. Dominic steered the boy to sit on the cot and he pulled his stool over, shifting between his thighs to get close enough.

"I am so sorry," Torsten spluttered as he tried to stop the blood leaking from his nostrils, tilting his chin up and glaring at the ceiling, as if somehow it was the ceiling's fault he and Dominic didn't end up having a hot make-out session in the otherwise unoccupied Hospital Wing. Fuck. He fucked up.
His mother would rip his mouth off for the vulgar things he had a strong urge to say, but Merlin damn it all! His father would rise from his sea-grave and berate Torsten for being such a wimp.
Meekly obeying Dominic (and Tor absentmindedly noted how hot Dom was), he settled and let the volunteer healer to get as close as possible. "A quick, painful Episkey would work." He grumbled, wincing in pain. "It's more than I deserve. Wait wait wait wait, aaactually," he tried to bat Dominic's hands away, protesting, flushing, "Don't heal me. I should suffer for being a pathetic excuse of a man."

Dominic went about shuffling through his smock, looking for his pain reducer since fixing cartilage was never fun. Once finding it he reached a gentle hand to his neck and attempted to tilt his head back only to have Tor swat his hand away.
Dominic as absorbed his words with a look of confusion. Green eyes all squinted and forehead creased. "Torsten," he said, a bit exasperated but always soft. "You are being slightly dramatic, don't you think?" He murmured, a small amused smile coming to his lips. Again he reached for his neck, finger tips dancing along his skin till they reached it and subtly he carded his tips into his dark hair. "It was an accident. No need to get worked up over it." He said, leaning forward and giving a tender light peck to his cheek.
Dominic closed his eyes for a moment, breath shortening. He needed to stay focused, Torsten was hurt. "I'm going to tip your head back now, okay?" He asked for confirmation, leaning back now to meet his eyes.

Torsten fell a little bit more for Dominic, and leaned in to the other boy's touch, eyelids falling shut. The fingers through his hair...he shivered and quietly sighed, melting into a puddle of Torsten and feelings. What he would do for Dominic.
How was it possible to look at someone and feel as if you would glady take the stars for this person? It was a startling, scary, exhilarating feeling.
He opened his eyes (when had he shut them?) and bemusedly listened to the Gryffindor's scolding. His heart was still beating erratically. He was pretty sure even Dominic could hear it go thud thud thud like some sort of rampaging beast. Torsten didn't really care. He nodded, allowed Dominic to tilt his head back.
Kissing after this would feel awkward. But Tor resolved to at least plant one on either (or both) of those cheeks after.

Dominic moved his head back then, heart beat quicker than before. He was sure it was just syncing to the speed of Torsten's, he could hear how quickly his was speeding along. It made his already pink cheeks flush more and vaguely he wondered if there would be a time he would stop getting so flustered around the Hufflepuff.
Concentrating he tipped the vial of pain reducer between his lips, trying his best to ignore the way his fingers grazed across them. His lips felt soft and warm, but he only received a tiny brush, he was craving for more. Keep it together, Winslow. Healing mode now, would be nice.
Right.
With a deep breath he furrowed his brows, completely putting himself in the zone. He needed to be to produce the charm correctly. Brandishing his wand he hovered above his nose. "This is going to pinch," Dominic warned and grabbed Torsten's free hand for a bit of comfort. "Stay still-" With that he murmured the charm and with a nasty snapping noise his nose had relined.

Torsten released a soft groan but forced a strained smile. "I'm good." He managed to say hoarsely. His nose stung a lot. Merlin. "You have a hard head, Dominic." He glanced up at the other boy's forehead, and he narrowed his eyes, hand moving automatically up to pat the spot where they had collided. "Do you hurt?" He asked worriedly.

Dominic gave his hand one last squeeze after he finished. He reached into his smock and pulled out a damp rag, patting his nose to clear the blood away. "Hmm, so I've been told." He hummed. Back when he was little, his brother Max had smacked into him and ended up getting a black eye. Dom had tough bones, must be all that milk he drank. "Oh, no I'm fine. Just a small head ache." He said with a small smile.

"If you're sure," Tor muttered, uneasy about the fact that he had caused Dominic discomfort. He wrinkled his nose and briefly rubbed it to see if there was any bloodstains left. He felt like a child when Dominic cleaned him up. Huffing (and embarrassed but trying not to show it), he pulled his hand back and gave the healer a grateful nod. "Thank you. Even though it was wholly my fault." He muttered. He motioned for Dominic to lean towards him.

"I am." He answered kindly and continued cleaning him up till the blood was gone and his face looked good as new. Though it would be swore for the next couple of says. He tossed the bloody rag and began placing everything back into his smock as Torsten spoke. "No problem and it's completely fine." He said with an amused chuckle and looked up at him to catch onto the movement. Dom furrowed his brow and scooted closer, chair scraping the floor as he leaned in. "Yes?"
